The module focuses on:

  • Recognising early ischaemic changes (e.g. insular ribbon sign, loss of grey–white differentiation, sulcal effacement)

  • Identifying hyperdense vessel signs and differentiating thrombus from artefact or calcification

  • Distinguishing lobar from deep haemorrhage patterns and recognising vasogenic oedema and subarachnoid extension

  • Understanding the pathophysiological basis of imaging findings

  • Applying interpretation to real-time clinical decision-making in hyperacute stroke

Along with the clinical information, interpretation of Non-contrast CT and CTA, CTP plays a pivotal role in the decision-making process for thrombolysis and mechanical thrombectomy.
